Vitra Design Museum

he Vitra Design Museum is one of the world's leading design museums. It explores and communicates the history and present of design and relates it to architecture, art, and everyday culture. In Frank Gehry's main building, the museum presents two major temporary exhibitions each year, while the Vitra Campus Gallery serves as the perfect starting point for discovering the Vitra Campus. It invites visitors to immerse themselves in the history and architecture of this special place. The Vitra Schaudepot by Herzog & de Meuron presents over 100 key objects from its extensive collection, as well as other selected exhibits. This makes it one of the world's largest exhibitions and research centers for modern furniture design. 

Many exhibitions are created in collaboration with well-known designers and deal with contemporary topics such as future technologies, sustainability, mobility, and social responsibility. Others focus on historical topics or showcase the complete works of important design personalities.

Some of the museum's exhibitions are shown as traveling exhibitions in partner museums worldwide. The Vitra Design Museum's work is based on its unique collection of furniture, lighting, and interior design.
