Schaulager is not open to the public when no exhibition is taking place. Library and collection can be visited upon request.
Schaulager will present a new work in June 2025 by renowned artist and film director Steve McQueen, who last presented a widely acclaimed, comprehensive exhibition Steve McQueen – a “City of Cinemas” – in 2013.
The Schaulager houses the collection of the Emanuel Hoffmann Foundation, with the aim of preserving, studying, and sharing its holdings of modern and contemporary art. It is primarily for the use of professionals, teachers, and students. Occasional exhibitions and events are open to the general public.
